Homemade Christmas Card and Gift Tags
Age: 6–9 years · Time: 45 min · Level: Easy
Stamp trees and stars and write a greeting. Perfect for your presents.
Materials
- white or light card stock (letter size)
- green, yellow, brown and red craft paint
- a cork, or a piece of potato that an adult cuts into a stamp
- a plate for the paint
- markers
- scissors
- hole punch
- string or a piece of yarn
Steps
- Fold a sheet of card stock in half. This is the card.
- Cut out a few rectangles, about 2 x 3 inches. These are the gift tags.
- Dip the cork in green paint and stamp three rows: one dot at the top, two in the middle and three at the bottom. This makes a tree.
- Stamp a yellow dot above the tree as a star. Paint a small brown trunk under the tree and a red heart at the bottom. Let it dry.
- Write a greeting, like "Merry Christmas!", and who it is for.
- Punch a hole in the corner of each tag and thread a string through it.
Safety for grown-ups
An adult cuts the potato stamp with a knife. Use non-toxic paint and cover the table with newspaper.
