Happy Toilet-Roll Christmas Tomte (gnome)
Age: 3–5 years · Time: 30 min · Level: Easy
A happy little tomte (a Nordic Christmas gnome) that can stand on the windowsill all of December.
Materials
- 1 empty toilet paper roll
- red paper (half a letter-size sheet) for the hat
- light pink or beige paper for the face
- cotton balls for the beard
- black marker
- child-safe scissors with rounded tips
- glue stick
- tape
Steps
- Glue light pink paper around the top half of the roll. This is the face.
- An adult cuts a half circle out of red paper.
- Roll the half circle into a cone and tape it closed. Now you have a hat.
- Put the hat on the roll and tape it in place.
- Glue a white paper strip around the bottom edge of the hat and a small cotton ball on the tip.
- Draw two eyes and a happy mouth with the black marker.
- Pull the cotton into small tufts and glue them under the mouth as a beard.
Safety for grown-ups
An adult handles the scissors and stays close the whole time. Small cotton tufts and paper pieces must not go in the mouth. Use non-toxic glue.
